Guitar Hero World Tour isn't even out yet but Red Octane is already getting gamers ready for some great downloadable content. The Smashing Pumpkins, complete with a virtual Billy Corgan, will be debuting their new single "G.L.O.W." as part of an exclusive GHWT downloadable song pack that will include "1979" and "The Everlasting Gaze". Here's hoping an in-game Homer Simpson joins the band and is seen taking cannon balls to the gut in the background.

Weekly 360 and Wii Downloads: Pirates vs Ninjas

Sep. 1 9:24 AM by coloradojoe1

The highlight of this weeks downloads are Pirates vs Ninjas Dodgeball on XBLA and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars on the Wii Channel. That's right, Pirates and Ninja's just hanging around throwing red dodgeballs at each other. I can just picture Johnny Depp running around the beach dressed like Jack Sparrow, dodgeball in hand. I'm not sure whether the game is any good or not but at least it sounds cool. Gamers can purchase Pirates vs Ninjas on Wednesday for 800MS points.

Also this week, Nintendo celebrates its 250th virtual console release, making classic Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (800 Wii Points) available along with Clu Clu Land (500 points). WiiWare fans can nab My Aquarium (500 points). Read on for all the details.

Editors Note: Looks like Pirates vs Ninjas isn't the only downloadable game on XBLA this week. Shred Nebula (800 pts) and everyone's favorite card game, Gin Rummy (400 pts) will also be available.

Rock Band DLC: Locksley

Aug. 30 8:11 AM by coloradojoe1

Rolling Stone magazine has called Locksley one of the "25 Best Bands on MySpace". I'm not exactly sure what that means, I'm more of a Facebook guy, but evidently its a compliment. I've never heard of Locksley either, my first thought was Kevin Costner was forming a band named after his character in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Either way gamers will soon be able to download three Locksley tunes.

Five Reasons Why Games Are Better Than Movies

Aug. 20 8:45 PM by coloradojoe1

As a lover of video games its easy to see how gaming is greatest thing in the world. Gaming makes people smarter, funnier, more athletic, taller and better looking. However, some still need convincing. Music, movies, television and other forms of entertainment are great but sometimes people don't realize how much fun gaming can be. In order to educate the masses, GPArcade is starting a new series, the Top 5 Ways Gaming is Better Than... This week? Going to the Movies.

1. Refunds - If you don't like a game you can either take it back or at least get store credit for something better. If you don't like a movie don't bother whining to the manager, you're screwed. It's too bad you can't get time refunds either. There are plenty of movies (Wild Wild West, Catwoman, Spider-Man 3) that I wish would give me 2 hours of my life back.

Rock Band DLC: Whip It, Whip It Good

Aug. 15 3:35 PM by coloradojoe1

Next week Rock Band fans will be able to download songs from two classic 80's bands, Duran Duran and Devo. And while you won't actually be able to sing "Whip It" (sorry for the false advertising, it was too tempting of a title) you can jam to Devo's "Girl U Want" and "Through Being Cool". If wearing a flower pot on your head isn't your bag, feather your hair and sing along to Duran Duran songs "Rio" and "Girls On Film".

Also available next week is the song "Get Your Rock On" from MTV's The American Mall. I have no idea what that is.

Each Devo and Duran song is available for $1.99(160MS points) on the 360 and PS3. "Get Your Rock On" will sell for $.99 (80MS points). Read on for all the details.

Fans of the Blue Bomber are getting a little tease of what to expect with Mega Man 9 - coming out in the fall on XBLA, PSN and WiiWare - with Capcom's announcement of the bosses for the game.
