5 Horrifying Games To Rock You This Halloween!

Oct. 31 5:35 PM by Andrew Ramsey

This month we are throwing out something special for all you gamers. We have selected some of the scariest games from flash to console. We searched under the bed in the closet and even the pits of hell to find these titles. Some of us may not of made it back, but those of us who did compiled this list. These titles are so horrifying that some of you might curl up into the fetal position screaming for your mommies and wetting your huggies! So not that you are prepared, let's get on with the list. Below Each title will be the Link to get to these gore fest titles.

1. SIREN: Blood Curse (PSN) - Brought to you by SCEA, this horror/action title has everything you are looking for in the survival horror genre. Monsters, blood, gore and sheer terror. You follow a film crew who has stumbled upon an ancient village that hasn't been around for ages. Upon arriving they stumble upon a ritual which revives the dead and is bringing about some sort of occult. Spanning multiple episodes for a price of about $5 to $40 dollars this is defienetly one to pick up for the trick or treat season.

2. Ghouls' and Ghost (Wii VC) - While this is a throwback title from the genesis era. This is still relevant today for two reasons. One it deals with the devil and ghouls and two it's one of the hardest games around. Not only is there no save feature. You also only have a short number of lives. So try as you might it will take some careful planning and memorizing to defeat this devil. Also as a bonus hint you have to play the entire game twice to beat it. Oh the humanity, the horror!

3. Desolation 2 - Is brought to you by WEBcypher and has some very nice looking visuals. Your goal of course is to kill zombies, but its point and click/action blend add a sweet twist to how you accomplish this. You use the mouse to click the direction to go and left click to fight with the zombie with whatever weapon you are wielding. Added in is solving puzzles as well as conspiracy theories to keep the action fresh so you're not just hacking your way throw each section.

4. Synapsis - Is a point and click adventure created by RobotJam. This is a total mind melt of a game. Your basically testing your psyche and dealing with puzzles that make you think and deal with pain. Without giving anything away this is something everyone should check out and try to not use the walkthrough. There are achievements in the game so see if you can use your achievement whore aspects to also try to get them. With cool level design, nice sounds and some creepy revelations this will see how far it can take you before you break and cheat.

5. The House - Created by 25 year-old Sinthai Boonmaitree of Bangkok, Thailand. This title is sure to creep you the hell out. It is a point and click based adventure game where you traverse through a house where apparently an entire family committed suicide. The visuals are all in black and white with an eerie vibe strewn about them. The art work looks old and very dark with the hint of light thrown in to make you look closer than you probably should. But where this title catches you is in its sound. The lightning and rain crashing down and the ominous whispers you hear of children and people suffering bring out the creepy factor in more ways than one.

Comments

Siren: Blood Curse is a great game I downloaded the demo when it first hit the PSN and the game had me jumping all over my bedroom as I played it (it takes up alot of harddrive space wish they made it on disc), but overall it is a fantastic game.
